Those who have been waiting to savour Michelin-starred Japanese cuisine in town, your wait is over! Sushi Ryu is collaborating with one-Michelin-starred teppanyaki restaurant Ishigaki Yoshida, bringing to us some of the best beefy goodness that the Japanese restaurant is known for.

Sushi Ryu has made its name for Japanese high cuisine that has been given a modern and innovative take. This made it a perfect match for Ishigaki Yoshida’s contemporary and warm approach.

Ishigaki Yoshida earned 1 Michelin star for the restaurant’s rendition of Kitauchi beef, a premium brand of meat flown in straight from Okinawa’s Ishigaki Island. Finally, we get to taste it without needing to hop on a flight to Okinawa, Japan.

Ultimate Crispy Steak

Owner-chef Junichi Yoshida who will be taking over Sushi Ryu is preparing an exclusive seven-course Omakase Menu using the finest seasonal produce air-flown from Japan. Chef Yoshida, also known as ‘Teppanyaki Master’, will be plating up his infamous Ultimate Crispy Steak, which is cooked over low heat for over three hours, sealing in the deep umami flavour of the beef.

Uni Scrambled Eggs with Black Truffle

Other decadent creations that are also celebrated in this collaboration, include the Uni Scrambled Eggs with Black Truffle, Abalone Liver Sauce Pasta, Crispy Wagyu Steak and Special Beef Curry Gohan with Black Truffle.

Don’t miss the opportunity to order his famed Charcoal Wagyu Sando – which will also be available for takeaway via pre-order in limited quantities per day.


Japanese mixologist Osamu Kinugawa, who has carved a name in the drinking scene with revered Japanese-style cocktail bar, Bar Shake, will be mixing up a specially crafted complimentary drink (cocktail or mocktail) to go complement the menu.

The Ishigaki Yoshida pop-up menu is priced at RM1,588++ per person for 7-courses and will be available to the public for three days only, from May 23 (Thursday) to May 25 (Saturday) 2019. There will be one seating for lunch at 12 pm, and two seatings for dinner, at 6 pm and 8.30 pm respectively.
