In 2000, RIMOWA pioneered the launch of the first-ever polycarbonate suitcase – marking an innovation that reverberates throughout the industry today. Beloved for its scratch resistance and superior lightness over its plastic or aluminium cases, the polycarbonate suitcases blends durable strength and flexibility to create the perfect travel companion.
This year, in honour of the innovation’s 21st anniversary, RIMOWA has unveiled a brand-new collection of Personal cases, crafted in the latest polycarbonate Essential collection colours. First unveiled on the runway of Dior’s Summer 2020 collection, it was part of a limited edition capsule collection collaboration with Kim Jones.
The RIMOWA Personal also marks the next step in the product’s evolution, expanding beyond the look and function of travel products into lifestyle essentials. It’s a unisex hard-shell crossbody bag that’s made in Germany, crafted for the first time in ultra-lightweight, dent-resistant grooved polycarbonate. It can be worn with its detachable, adjustable leather body strap, or carried like a clutch depending on how you wish to carry your daily personal essentials.
Available in a total of four polycarbonate glossy colours – including the permanent colours: Black and White, and seasonal hues: Desert Rose and Cactus, the latter shades match the latest RIMOWA Essential collections inspired by the Mojave desert. The bags come with colour-matched straps, leather lining and metal rivets, rings and hooks finished in silver or gunmetal. Inside, the interior features two open compartments, a zipped pocket and three card slots – making organisation easy even when on-the-go.
The RIMOWA Personal Collection will be available from 15 April 2021 in RIMOWA stores worldwide.
