Arissa Cheo is one name that often comes mind amongst the best-known heiresses of Singapore. What with her head-turning features (several have dubbed her the “prettiest girl in Singapore”) and some 363,000 followers on Instagram (@xarissacheox), that’s certainly no surprise.
Her father runs the Cheo family business, edible oil refiner Mewah International, and was ranked in Forbes’ 50 richest net worth in the country in 2014. But like a few other Rich Heirs on Instagram we know, Arissa isn’t keen on taking over the family business.
“I’m lucky that I have been blessed with a lot of things in life. But I also want to do things for myself. If I have to be known for something, I’d rather it be things that I have done, rather than what my dad has done,” she told Singaporean media 8DAYS.
With that determination to make it on her own, she’s established herself as a serial entrepreneur who has also dabbled in blogging, fashion, beauty, showbiz – and who knows what next? Here’s a look at the life of this self-made beauty based on her Instagram account.
Arissa started her entrepreneurial journey with Carte Blanche X, an online fashion retail store she co-founded with her cousin in 2009. The business now carries her eponymous apparel and accessories label Arissa X and cosmetics line AXJ Beaute among a list of indie brands. She oversees the Group as its creative director and also models the looks for all relevant platforms.
Her label’s major debut took place late 2017 at Singapore Fashion Week. It also holds pop-ups around the Lion City from time to time, as well as a special appearance in Hotel Stripes KL this year.

While busy making a name for herself, quality time with the Cheos remains at the top of her priority list. The eldest of three siblings with two younger brothers (Elroy and Hubert) under her protective stance, she isn’t afraid to stand up against anyone bad-mouthing her family.
(Might we add, her good looks are clearly genetic.)
Now single after a recent divorce from Taiwanese pop celebrity Vanness Wu, she spends much of her (limited) spare time with her bulldogs.
Who wouldn’t, when you have dogs as adorable as these?
She also happens to be great with kids. Talk about babysitter goals.
