Inspired by its illustrious history and ambassador, and in celebration of the 70th anniversary of the birth of Luminor, Panerai reaffirms its deep connection to the sea with the introduction of the Luminor Marina 44mm – Guillaume Néry Edition (PAM01122).
Of course featuring the iconic Luminor – a patented titrium-based substance known for its luminescent properties, the new Luminor Marina 44mm – Guillaume Néry Edition is also a radical distillation of innovative aesthetic elements. It sports a rubberised coating applied to the bezel, crown, and bridge lever; and the accentuated convex glass and the dial with an evocative dégradé effect that emulates the shades produced as sunlight filters through the depths of the sea.
This new model, limited to only 70 units, is an expression of contemporary horology, reflecting the sophisticated approach to working with advanced materials cultivated by the Panerai Laboratio di Idee. This includes DMLS (Direct Metal Laser Sintering) technology, which shapes titanium using a 3D printing process.
The Guillaume Néry Edition is powered by the Calibre P.9010, a self-winding movement measuring a mere 6mm thickness that’s designed and developed entirely within the Panerai Manufacture in Neuchâtel. It’s equipped with double barrels for a three-day power reserve and a quick time adjustment function that can move forward or backward in increments of one hour and is connected automatically to the date indicator.
The timepiece also comes with water-resistance up to 300 metres, and is fitted with a strap fashioned from black recycled PET material with white stitching and a trapezoidal pin buckle. A white rubber technical strap, the very first to feature luminescent “Officine Panerai” personalisation is also included with each watch, alongside a screwdriver to remove the buckle, and a recycled plastic box engraved with the signature of Guillaume Néry. For the final touch, the caseback features an engraving depicting the silhouette of Néry.
In an effort to maintain and improve the performance of its instruments through innovative methodologies, Panerai also redefines the concept of a guarantee by providing 70 years of coverage for the Luminor Marina 44mm – Guillaume Néry Edition.
