Celebrating a flourishing partnership of over forty years, Hublot and The Hour Glass have come together to launch a special edition of Hublot’s Classic Fusion collection that spotlights the beauty of five natural stone elements.
Expressing its signature experimental brand of creativity, Hublot exemplifies the developmental philosophy of the ‘Art of Fusion’ with natural stone dials made using Tiger’s Eye, Red Jasper, Malachite, Turquoise and Lapis Lazuli.
Crafted exclusively for The Hour Glass, the Classic Fusion 42mm Elements special edition for The Hour Glass showcase these natural stones in vibrant, and enthralling new ways, reflecting Hublot’s bold spirit in exploring new depths and mastering new materials.
The stone dials in the special edition Classic Fusion pieces were carved from carefully selected minerals, cut and polished by highly skilled artisans to adjust to their thickness. As each dial is cut from an individual mineral with its own unique pattern, no two watches from this collection are the same.
With yellow, gold, and brown striations that echo the fur of a tiger, the distinctive Tiger’s Eye stone brings a captivating warmth and earthiness to the dial, as does the deep fiery hues of Red Jasper. The lively Malachite, on the other hand, mimics the lush, verdant green of a forest.
Mirroring the enchanting night sky, the cobalt blue of Lapis Lazuli offers a regal character to the watch, while Turquoise’s bright shades of cyan have adorned architectural marvels the world over.
Further accentuating the dials’ hypnotic radiance are the polished King Gold H-shaped bezel screws, the polished gold-plated hour, minute, and seconds hands, and the satin-finished titanium case with polished King Gold crowns and bezel lugs.
The Classic Fusion 42mm Elements is powered by the 4Hz self-winding Hublot HUB1100 calibre with a 42-hour power reserve, which is visible through the caseback’s anti-reflective sapphire window. The words, “SPECIAL EDITION” and “XX/10” are engraved on the caseback circumference, while the black alligator strap features 5N Gold stitching and a gold-plated stainless steel deployant buckle clasp.
Back in 1980, Hublot’s broke ground with the original Classic Fusion timepiece, which united precious and modern materials in an immediately recognisable ship porthole design. Today, the minimalist watch has been reinterpreted using a wide variety of movements, materials, and colours, each iteration pushing the boundaries of contemporary watchmaking with the brand’s signature ‘Art of Fusion’ philosophy.
