This one-off Phantom offers one special owner the chance to enjoy a motor car that is bound to be a classic over the next 115 years.
In 1904, Honourable Charles Rolls and Sir Henry Royce met for the first time and sparked off to what would become one of the most iconic luxury brands ever made. The Rolls-Royce is still an epitome of luxury cars, and the Phantom is known to be one of the most luxurious cars around.
In commemoration of the British automaker’s 115 anniversary this month, a one-off Phantom is being put together to be auctioned. An announcement was made earlier this month that the one-off Phantom will be auctioned in New York by RM Sotheby’s. The auction is set to take place on October 2, with additional details to be revealed in the coming months.
Martin Fritsches, president and CEO of Rolls-Royce Motor Cars Americas said, “This new Phantom commission offers one special owner the chance to enjoy a motor car that is bound to be a classic over the next 115 years.”
At the moment, Rolls-Royce is not releasing any details except for a sketch showing the Phantom done in red exterior with an ‘original hand-crafted leather’ on the inside. We are certain that it will come with unique features to mark the important milestone.
We’re expecting to see some features like an exclusive plaque on the dashboard and special embroidery for the seat upholstery. As the Phantom’s exterior finish is described as an ‘inspired red colour combination’, it could mean a two-tone finish. We are especially eager to see any badges marking the 115 years of Rolls-Royce.
Given that all standard Phantom comes at a starting price of approximately US$450,000, speculations are rife that this one-off Phantom will exceed the half-a-million mark.
