“This is a collection about the power of women, and women who know how to use their power” – Donatella Versace

In a time when the question of women’s rights is more relevant than ever, Donatella Versace adds her voice to the subject this year through the Versace Autumn 2017 collection.

Models at her show were seen walking down with coloured streaks in their manes and intense eye makeup in mesh dresses played up with floral patchwork. Some sported remixed power suits with plaid prints on ombre threads while others were a vision of elegance in evening wear, metallic slip dresses and vivified floral prints against sheer inserts.

Throughout the collection, power words of Loyalty, Courage, Love, Strength, Unity were spelt out across the silhouettes sending out a strong and clear message.

Donatella Versace says, “This is a collection about the power of women, and women who know how to use their power. It is a call for unity, and the strength that comes from positivity and hope.”

It was a perfect meld of celebrating everything women – the bold, the beautiful, the sophisticated, the masculine, the woman we see in our reflections.
