Since its introduction in June last year, the Mercedes-Benz E-Class has received overwhelming response, ranking it as the best-selling CBU model to date. Following its success, Mercedes-Benz Malaysia presents the all-new E-Class as a locally assembled model, marking a new era in the market for locally produced cars.
The new CKD E-Class lines include the E200 Avantgarde, E250 Avantgarde and E250 Exclusive. While the Avantgarde line features the sports radiator grille with a large Mercedes star as its centrepiece, the Exclusive line is identifiable by the classic Mercedes radiator grille with the iconic star on the bonnet.
Its past record sales alone are a testament to its superior craftsmanship, but here’s a closer breakdown of what’s to love about the new Mercedes-Benz E-Class models.
Robust yet lightweight bodyshell
To achieve a high level of crash safety with low levels of noise and vibration, the new E-class is manufactured with far higher proportion of aluminium and ultra-high-strength steel components than its predecessor. The new lightweight bodyshell reduces fuel consumption and makes for tangibly sporty and agile vehicle handling.
Next-generation cockpit
Synthesising emotion and intelligence, two high-resolution displays – each with a wide screen diagonal of 12.3 inches – visually conflate into a wide-screen cockpit in the direct field of vision of the driver. Plus, the entire cockpit is fully digital, enabling the driver to customise information cluster based on three disctinct styles: “Classic”, “Sport” and “Progressive”.
Optimum driving assistance systems
With new assistance and safety systems such as the Active Brake Assist and Attention Assist, the new E-Class sets next-level standards for driver comfort and security. The Active Brake Assist provides situation-dependent braking assistance and autonomous braking function to help prevent frontal accidents, while the Attention Assist comes with adjustable sensitivity to warn the driver of inattentiveness or drowsiness.
Multifunction telephony
In keeping with the infotainment generation, the new E-Class debuts the modern, intelligent graphic design of the Multifunction Telephony, which allows wireless charging and connectivity for mobile phones. The charging pad, built into the stowage facility at the front of the centre console, is compatible with mobile phones with a screen diagonal of up to 15.2 cm (6 inches). Save yourself the worry and trouble of bringing extra wires for charging!
Secure and flexible financing
With the new locally-assembled models, customers ultimately benefit from attractive financing offered by Mercedes-Benz financial. The 3-year Agility Financing agreement allows customers to pay only RM 5,042* per month to enjoy the E 200 Avantgarde Line.
On top of that, customers are guaranteed a future value for the car with flexible options to choose from at the end of the finance agreement. This includes returning the car, paying off the guaranteed future value amount or refinancing the guaranteed future value amount.
