Last year was a very good year for Mercedes-Benz, if we may say so. Not only did it celebrate its 130th anniversary, it also achieved a record sales number in Malaysia.
The three-pointed star as it is fondly called proudly and successfully delivered 11,779 vehicles to customers in 2016, taking the record top spot in the premium car segment in the country.
That marks a 9% growth in unit sales in Malaysia and secures its position as the number one premium brand with an impressive 2.4% market share. Added trivia: Mercedes-Benz Malaysia also made it to service over 100,000 vehicles while achieving the highest Customer Satisfaction Index (CSI) score in history.

From the 11,779 units, the Mercedes-Benz C-, E- and S-Class limousines collectively recorded a total of 7,750 units while the Mercedes-Benz A-Class, B-Class, GLA and CLA compact vehicles contributed 2,316 units in total sales. The recently launched SUVS saw a total of 1,671 units delivered to customers while the Mercedes-Benz GLC proved to be the most popular model with 1,421 units sold, followed by the GLE with 250 units.
