Lamborghini has unveiled the opening of THE LOUNGE TOKYO in Roppongi, making it the second venue of its kind after New York in the U.S.
THE LOUNGE TOKYO features a permanent Ad Personam studio, where clients ordering cars can fully personalise every aspect of their new Lamborghini – from the exterior and interior, to the trim. The new establishment also acts as a meeting and venue space for events and exhibitions.
In commemoration with the opening, Lamborghini has teamed up with the eponymous brand of renowned Japanese designer, Yohji Yamamoto. The lounge has become the perfect setting to present an Aventador S that’s been “dressed” by Yohji Yamamoto, alongside a co-branded capsule collection comprised of three unique pieces: a mod coat, bomber jacket, and hoodie sweatshirt.
Mitja Borkert, Head of Design for Automobili Lamborghini first met Yohji Yamamoto at Paris Fashion Week in January 2020, where he was impressed by the designer’s craftsmanship and contrasting red-and-black collection. The latter is the main inspiration for the Aventador S, which was reimagined by the Lamborghini Centro Stile. The distinctive Gandini line characterising each Lamborghini is still visible in the Aventador, but dressed with selected patterns from Yamamoto’s collection. The same designs also enhance the interior of the car.
“It has been exciting to have the chance to work with Yohji Yamamoto, the world-renowned fashion icon, who innately understood out significant Lamborghini design DNA,” commented Mitja Borkert. “Our collaboration inspired this outstanding artwork and design for the Aventador S, which was unveiled today, and celebrates Italian craftsmanship connecting with Japanese culture.”
“With their inimitable design, Lamborghini super sports cars are more instantly recognisable than any other car manufacturer – just one glance is enough,” said Yohji Yamamoto. “I am delighted to see the realisation of this collaboration, highlighting the uniqueness, the timelessness, and the abundant passion, which are characteristics of both our brands.”

A first look at THE LOUNGE TOKYO sees the ground floor offering a peek into the Lamborghini lifestyle, as well as serving as the venue for personalised handovers to owners of their new Lamborghini. The second and third floors offer event and meeting locations for both business and private occasions. The venue is also available to the public for special activities such as exhibitions of art shows.
“We created this lounge because we are designers of experience, and we want guests to enjoy the real Italian Lamborghini feeling in this space: a little of Sant’Agata Bolognese soul in the heart of Tokyo,” said Katia Bassi, Chief Marketing & Communication Officer at Automobili Lamborghini. “It reflects our attitude to innovating, while maintaining our brand DNA and our Italian cultural identity; the Lounge’s core concept of informal luxury expresses the Lamborghini worldview while welcoming guests to this intimate and exclusive environment that evokes the Lamborghini brand at every turn.”
