Ladurée brings more than just macarons to Malaysia with its new menu.
The story of the Ladurée macaron began in the middle of the 20th century with Pierre Desfontaines who first thought of taking two macaron shells and joining them with a delicious ganache filling. To date, the recipe has not changed, but Ladurée now offers more than just macarons.
The refined, authentic tea room has since bloomed in many avenues over the globe with Malaysia being one of it. The Maison has allowed us to indulge in Parisian luxury of macarons and now brings forth a menu of savoury dishes and delightful desserts to be savoured.
After an afternoon tête-à-tête at the salon, we are convinced that Ladurée Malaysia is more than just the quintessential tea parlour. Their new menu of savoury dishes and desserts makes it a good stop for lunch or dinner as well.
Let us share with you three reasons why we think Ladurée Malaysia is more than a tea salon.
Instagrammable dishes
When you dine here, you will want to click first and dig in later. The clever plating does justice to the delectable flavours of the dishes served. Order their gorgeous Pink Avocado Toast and bite into creamy avocado goodness, but only after you have taken a shot of the vibrant dish. The green hues of the avocado combined with the bright pink of beetroots make for a pretty picture. This is not the only option, almost all their dishes are plated to be pleasing to both the eye and the palate.
Hearty, warm meals
If you had a long day shopping that has left you famished and in need of sustenance stat, head to Ladurée and order off their menu of warm food. Try the Ladurée classic Vol au Ven where the buttery, flaky puff pastry meets a rich stew of chicken and mushrooms. The hearty dish will fill your tummy and soul with rich goodness. The pastry is light and melts into the hearty stew. Before you know it, you will have polished the bowl clean. The Saffron Risotto made from shrimps, parmesan cheese and arborio rice is another good option for something filling. Every spoonful of the fragrant dish is well worth the calories.
Perfect French toasts
You will not want the usual French toast after a bite of their global best-selling Ispahan French toast. This dish is just perfection with rose macaron crumble, fresh raspberries, lychee and rose ice cream on a bed of house-made brioche toast. With the first bite, you will get the soft, sweet rose flavours from the ice cream balanced by the tartness from the raspberries. The rose macarons crumbled over adds crisp to the texture of the dish.
And of course, Ladurée is almost synonymous to macarons and rightly so. Their wide array of macaron flavours to pick from gives a good souvenir to take home after a refined dining experience.
