The hotel officially opened its doors just a few weeks ago on 18 December 2024, right in the heart of the city on Jalan Sultan Ismail, just a short way away from KL’s iconic landmarks like the Twin Towers and KL Tower. Aside from these icons, guests will also be surrounded by a mixture of central shopping locations like Pavilion Kuala Lumpur, as well as more niche ones like The Zhongshan Building or The Row, allowing for a diverse experience of all that this bustling city has to offer. If you’re craving a bout of respite in the greenery of nature, the lush KL Eko-Rimba Park is also in the vicinity.
This five-star lifestyle hotel lives up to its mission from the moment you first walk in, with the lobby decked out with design that infuses local touches, like the nod to Kuala Lumpur’s tin-mining past seen in the industrial elements scattered around. There are also the bright and lively pops of colour in the lobby that represents the city’s overflowing creativity, all created in collaboration with Malaysian graffiti artist Jefr.
This homage-by-design continues in each of the 312 rooms, which are designed by Silverfox Studios and inspired by KL’s industrial heritage. Clean and bold lines meet warm colours to create an inviting atmosphere for comfortable rest, while also learning more about the city’s history.
But most exciting of all are the hotel’s facilities, the highlight of which is undoubtedly the open-air infinity saltwater pool on the hotel’s 21st floor offering a perfect view of the city. Also available is a 24-hour fully equipped fitness centre, and three global-inspired restaurants to tantalise your tastebuds.
Leading the culinary experiences at Hyatt Centric City Centre Kuala Lumpur are Executive Chef Vincenzo Carbone and Director of Food & Beverage Operations Davide Brescianini, who blend Italian and Malaysian culinary cultures – punchy flavours, fresh ingredients, and good conversation over great meals – into exceptional menus across all three restaurants.
“We wanted to show the similarities between Italian and Malaysian cultures and how we have reimagined this beautiful relationship between our countries in our three dining establishments, whether through authentic flavors or innovative expressions,” said Vincenzo Carbone.
First on the list is IL Forno, an authentic trattoria establishment serving handmade pizzas and pastas, both for sharing or for one. For a taste of South Asian fusion, TanBuri serves up dishes like tandoori in Japanese don bowls or the “Naanini” which reinvents the traditional naan by expressing it in panini sandwich styles. Last but not least, the rooftop bar and lounge @21 offers craft cocktails and dishes fresh off the teppan grill, whilst you enjoy the scenic view and city ambience from your vantage point.
Hyatt Centric City Centre Kuala Lumpur is made for the traveller who aims to immerse themselves in this unique city, from its strategic location that offers both urban and nature discovery, right down to the uniquely global minded food they’re serving up. If you’re looking to rediscover Kuala Lumpur through a new lens, the Hyatt Centric is one to check out.
