Celebrated Singaporean designer Lisa Von Tang will soon be opening the doors to the first Kuala Lumpur boutique of her eponymous label. Ahead of the launch, she collaborated with local sustainable fashion organisation Recyclothes for an art show and sneak preview of her latest line, The V Elements.
Inspired by a respite to nature that left her feeling more rejuvenated, the new line features upcycled textiles and sustainable materials for pieces that are stylish as they are kind to the Earth. Basics like T-shirts to dressy outerwear like bomber jackets are all included, featuring her now signature touch of East meets West true to her own German-Chinese roots.
The clothes come with a collection of scents also of the same name, each representing the five Chinese elements of the universe – Earth, Water, Fire, Metal and Wood.
Guests were treated to an intimate element reading session at the launch, where they discovered their yin yang element, followed by an immersive interpretive dance performance personifying the five elements.
Supporting the sustainable message behind the collection, 10% proceeds from sales that day went to Recyclothes Group.
