The launch was held in the presence of renowned Ducati Riding Experience (DRE) instructors Karel Abraham, Chaz Davies, Alex de Angelis and Dario Marchetti, alongside Ducati Malaysia COO Dennis Michael and Ducati Motor Holding vice-president Sales Marketing Asia Pacific Marco Biondi.
The Panigale V4 R (with a somewhat impressive RM458,900 price tag), promises an exhilarating ride with its 998cc engine that delivers an impressive power output of 218hp and 111.3Nm torque. And yes, this production model mimics its competition-specific sister (that’s not quite street-legal) as closely as possible in many, many ways!
Meanwhile, the Monster SP – priced at RM98,900 – is powered by a 937cc engine that delivers a punchy 111hp and 93.5Nm of torque. It boasts fully adjustable Ohlins suspension and a weight reduction of 1.99kg against the standard Monster, bringing it down to 185.97kg, and is painted in a unique MotoGP livery.
Ducati Malaysia and Next Bike Sdn Bhd, the sole importer and distributor of the Ducati brand in Malaysia, recently also announced an expansion plan led by the launch of the Ducati Corse Credit, an in-house financing facility for the purchase of all new Ducati motorcycles, and the setting up of the two latest Ducati Centres in Kuala Lumpur and Johor Bahru.
“With the launch of these two new bikes, we continue to work very hard to reaffirm Ducati’s position as one of the most sought-after premium motorcycle brands in Malaysia. Achieving this not only entails bringing to the market diversity and an exciting range of superior models but it must also be preceded by elevating our service and standards to ensure that customers obtain the very best from both the sales and after-sales experience,” said Ducati Malaysia and Next Bike Sdn Bhd CEO Dennis Michael.
Impressively, against the challenging backdrop of a worldwide pandemic, business for the brand has intensified in Malaysia with the launch of numerous models throughout 2020 and 2021.
Both years were also milestone years for Ducati, with 2021 recording the best-ever year for the brand with a total of 59,447 motorcycles worldwide – an achievement that not only marks a 24% increase in sales from 2020 but has also been instrumental in propelling growth and presence in Malaysia for the brand.
Additionally, the present availability of Ducati Corse Credit, with its attractive interest rate of as low as 4.88% per annum, loan tenure of up to seven years, a minimum down payment of just 10% and faster approval rate offers potential Malaysian customers greater options, accessibility, and convenience in purchasing new Ducati motorcycles. All this would definitely make owning one’s next Ducati a piece of cake now, wouldn’t it?
