“Sicily Is My Love” – yup, that’s the new range of appliances every domestic Goddess will want for their kitchens come October.
Last Spring, Dolce & Gabbana teamed up with Italian appliance brand Smeg to design 100 high-octane refrigerators all hand-painted for Salone Del Mobile – a Milan design fair. Now, they’re returning with a whole range of small countertop appliances to make it a more comprehensive collection.
Reflecting Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana’s home in Southern Italy, Sicilian folklores with lemons, prickly pears and bright red cherries motifs are seen throughout. The collection includes blenders, toasters, mixers, slow juicers, water kettles and even espresso machines. There’s no doubt we would convince ourselves to start cooking even if we don’t just so we can get these artful tools.
Although no prices have been stated for the items, last year’s refrigerators costs upwards of $34,000 (approx MYR149 532), so we are holding on to the hope of these babies costing less.
The full range of Sicily Is My Love will be launched in October and trust us, it’ll be something you’ll want for your kitchens. Have a look:
