BMW Malaysia is back with its 5th Cooler Lumpur Festival this year, with the theme “Notes from the Future”. Set to take place over next weekend, Saturday, 19th August and Sunday, 20th August at MAP Publika, the festival will explore the social, political, technological, and cultural ideas that shape our collective futures.
During the festival, the premium automaker will be launching the 11th BMW Shorties Short Film Competition as well as hosting two panel discussions on Digitalisation, Connectivity and the Future Mobility.
The first panel discussion, titled “Short Films and Beyond!” will provide insight from digital and film experts on the evolving short film art form and its future in the media space. The discussion will take place on Sunday, 20th August from 1.30pm to 3.00pm at White Box @ Publika.
For the second discussion, titled “The Red Pill or The Blue Pill? Not How Things Will End But How Things Will Begin with IoT”, some of Malaysia’s leading multi-national companies will evaluate how the Internet of Things (IoT) is evolving and where Malaysia stands on the technology curve. This will follow the first panel discussion at 3.30pm to 4.30pm on the same day and venue.
Visitors can also witness the Mobility of the Future, the BMW i8, as well as experience BMW Malaysia’s Electric Driving experiential program with a fleet of BMW 330e M Sport sedans at the Square@Publika throughout the festival. Additionally, visitors can test the capabilities of pure electric driving over a special circuit and stand a chance to win BMW merchandises by competing in several activities at the festival.
