Launched as a statement, a disruptive and audacious design that combines platinum, yellow gold, and rose gold in clean and simple lines, the Trinity ring became an instant icon. Designed with playfulness and mobility in mind, yet fronting pure and unique lines always, this interlinked icon is a timeless one, evolving over the full century that it has captured the imaginations and stories not just of its designer and maison Cartier, but also across every wearer and owner of its enigmatic beauty.
Throughout this year, in celebration of the Trinity’s centenary, you might have caught one of the events or pop-up experiences that toured across the world’s major cities. As part of the experience, the new Trinity models were first presented, taking Trinity into a new era of creative exploration. And now these new models are finally launched and are set to enrich the 100 year Trinity legacy.
Continuing the thread of threes, Cartier’s emblematic animals – the panther, the tiger, and the snake – join the Trinity design, marrying the house’s icons into one piece. Each band represents one of the three animals: snake scales appear on the rippled white gold band, black lacquer panther spots adorn the rounded yellow gold band, while the rose gold is shaped in a pyramidal structure and paired with tiger stripes.
Also introduced was the new modular ring that is carved to fit together forming one singular wide band, also known as the closed configuration. When worn open, the rings reveal a hidden band of diamonds, which each band stacking above and below each other in the iconic Trinity way.
Finally, the cushion-shaped Trinity, a completely new design that injects the icon with a geometric, angular touch. A design challenge to say the least, but expertly crafted to glide and move with the same fluidity as the round Trinity, the cushion-shaped ring and bracelet brings something new to the Trinity history.
