The House of Givenchy proudly announced its new face last week, recognising the singer/songwriter as “a strong, independent woman of refreshing character and style”.
Ariana Grande is well-known for many reasons – her Grammy award-winning music, her relationship history (think ‘7 Rings’), her signature high ponytail and her dollish looks. But for the first time, she will also be known as the new face of French fashion luxury house, Givenchy.
The House of Givenchy proudly announced its new face last week, recognising the singer/songwriter as “a strong, independent woman of refreshing character and style”. She is set to embody the spirit of the Givenchy woman with brazenness, generosity and a tad of sharp wit enveloped in a cloud of mystery.
Dubbed a ‘modern muse’, ‘the voice of a generation’ and ‘one of the most influential forces in pop culture today’ by the brand, Ariana took to Instagram to share the exciting news.
However, avid fans of the fashion house and the celebrity pop star had already put two and two together when the former teased the news a day before the announcement.

“I am so proud to be the new face of Givenchy. It is a House I have forever admired and to now be part of that family is such an honour. I love this clothing and the confidence and joy it brings to the people wearing it,” she said in a press release.
“Not only is the clothing timeless and beautiful but I’m proud to work with a brand that makes people feel celebrated for who they are, and unapologetic about whatever they want to be.”
The star follows in the footsteps of Grace Kelly and Audrey Hepburn, who were both former faces of the brand. And considering the black and white teaser photo and Instagram snippet, it appears that Givenchy could be looking ahead by revisiting the past. We’ll have to wait and see the full campaigns to know for sure.
The full Givenchy Fall/Winter 2019 campaign starring Ariana Grande will be unveiled in July.
