Celebrating empowered femininity in all its colours, Blancpain has launched the Ladybird collection, reintroducing its iconic Ladybird timepiece in seven new variations.
Embodying the brand’s timeless values of emancipation, elegance and success, the watches come in soft yet vibrant colours that pay homage to its first female CEO, Betty Fiechter. The new Ladybird Colors mirror Fiechter’s nature, emanating a balance between audacity and refinement.
Released in 1956, the Ladybird watch was a bold triumph in the world of watchmaking, offering the smallest round movement of its time. Over sixty years later, the brand is honouring the revolutionary timepiece by renaming its feminine watch collection ‘Ladybird’.
Dynamic and dignified
Featuring seven colourful case and strap combinations, Blancpain’s feminine watch collection welcomes a new era, characterised by diversity, enthusiasm and joy. Wearers have the option of a peacock green, midnight blue or satin-white alligator leather strap to match the red gold case. Those preferring a white gold model will have the choice of an alligator leather strap in the shade of lemon yellow, tangerine orange, lilac or satin-white. Each wristband is also further enhanced with a gold pin buckle or folding clasp set with nine diamonds.
The timepiece’s white mother-of-pearl dial gleams as the backdrop to the gold Arabic numerals that stand in an asymmetrical hour circle. A Blancpain signature accent, the hour and minute hands are in the shape of hollow sage leaves, pointing the eye towards the encircling band of diamonds. The gems continue beyond the bezel, lining the lug and adorning the crown, totalling 59 diamonds and over two carats. Placed by only the most experienced of gemsetters, the watch’s jewels are set using a ‘recutting’ technique that creates a mirror effect on light reflected, achieving a distinguished quality of splendour and opulence.
Its sophisticated finishing only matched by its exceptional movement, the Ladybird collection’s in-house Calibre 1150 is well-known for its slenderness, four-day power reserve, and its silicon balance spring. The elegant circular-grained mainplate works in aesthetic unison with chamfered, satin-brushed bridges, decorated with a Côtes de Genève motif.
