When Naza Italia introduced the Maserati Levante Trofeo to Malaysia in 2018, it made its mark as the automaker’s most powerful SUV yet. Now, the company is putting the cherry on the cake with the arrival of three Launch Edition models of its top-of-the-range SUV, limited to 100 units worldwide.

What distinguishes these limited-edition models from the standard are the styling trims, which highlight the car’s premium, sporty design.

Each of the three models brought into the Malaysian market are unique in colour, namely Blu Emozione Matte (blue), Giallo Modenese (yellow) and Rosso Magma (red) – all coming with the Nerissimo package.

The Launch Edition comes with special multi-spoked 22-inch Orione alloy wheels in matte finishing and high-performance brake calipers in either blue, red or yellow to match the car’s respective body colour.

Likewise, the interior cabin features sport seats made from premium full-grain “Pieno Fiore” natural leather enhanced with contrasting stitching and a “Trofeo” logo embroidered on the headrest in the corresponding blue, red or yellow colours.

Also exclusive to the Launch Edition models is a personalised badge on the centre console bearing the Trident and Trofeo logos along with the phrase “One of 100” to highlight its exclusivity. Other new interior elements not found in the original models are the “3D Touch” matte carbon fibre trim, paddle shifters, specific instrument cluster graphics, floor mats with metal Trofeo badges and an analogue Maserati clock with a unique dial.

While the rest of the exterior boasts the same athletic finesse as the standard Trofeo, a subtle “Saetta” (meaning thunderbolt in Italian) trademark underlines the Levante logo at the tailgate to emphasise the Trofeo’s swift character.

Under the hood, we can expect the same powerful 3.8-litre twin-turbo V8 engine that’s capable of producing up to 590hp and 720Nm of torque. All that power is transmitted via an eight-speed ZF automatic gearbox and Q4 Intelligent All-Wheel-Drive (AWD) system, allowing the car to sprint from 0-100km/h in just 3.9 seconds with a top speed of 304km/h.

Completing the model are the Maserati Touch Control Plus infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support, four-zone climate control, powered front seats, paddle shifters, a powered tailgate, adaptive LED headlamps, a panoramic sunroof and a 17-speaker, 1,280-watt Bowers & Wilkins sound system.

The Maserati Levante Trofeo Launch Edition is priced at RM 838,800.00 (before local duties and taxes) and inclusive of full specifications and options.
