Royal Salute was launched in 1953, paying homage to the coronation of the late Queen Elizabeth II. Since then, it has always been known as the go-to brand for celebrations. With a wide range of notable whiskeys to its name, Royal Salute recently launched a new concoction. The 30-Year-Old Key to the Kingdom highlights uniquely aged whisky made by Royal Salute Master Blender Sandy Hyslop.

The blend is served in a hand-made flagon with a granite-effect finish and a stopper modelled after the hilt of an old Scottish sword. The presentation box is adorned with a detailed depiction that is true to the artistic talent of Royal Salute. It also incorporates designs drawn from the Ceremony of the Keys, including ceremonial horns, royal roses, noble swords, and regal crests.
Notes of delight
The product is a richly sweet and fruity mix with notes of ripe, juicy pears, blood oranges, and thickset honey that combine to make a kaleidoscope of regal flavours. The finish is long and has lingering smokey overtones that are sure to delight whisky enthusiasts’ palates.

FirstClasse had the opportunity to experience the Royal Salute 30-Year-Old Key To The Kingdom, alongside other bestselling blends in a memorable pairing dinner. We got to try a crab medley featuring crab salad and a spiced sea crab curry that was fragrant with the right amount of heat and went extremely well with the Royal Salute 21-Year-Old Malts Blend. Then, we were treated to an A5 Miyazaki Beef alongside unique spiced foie gras that melted like butter in our mouths and brilliantly paired with none other than the Royal Salute 30-Year-Old.

Deconstructed black forest
We were then served lamb, saffron mash potato and bone marrow curry, which elements tasted delightful on their own but fiery together. The Nadodi Globe trio of daikon salad, smoked aubergine salna and free-range country chicken biryani further satiated our palates. And the deconstructed black forest with the 21-Year-Old Signature Blend ended our night on a high.
