Here’s your chance to shop sustainably, help flood victims and visit a beautiful heritage building all at the same time. This weekend only, The Next Gen Org is hosting a Chinese New Year themed Charity Pop-Up Fundraiser at the historical Rumah Tangsi.
From 22nd to the 23rd of January, you’ll find a wealth of small businesses, workshops, food and beverage brands to browse through at Rumah Tangsi, all working in concert to fundraise for flood relief. Some of the flood victims will even be involved in the event, setting up their own stalls with the assistance of the organisation.

Brands slated to participate in the charity event include LUMI Beauty, Purpose Plastics, We Bare Bars, Kualesa, Oxidat, BxssLady, Orkid Cosmetics, Revofa, and Callie. In between browsing, visitors can tickle their taste buds with treats from Dou Dou Bake, Point Blank, Granos, The Unusual Greens (TUG), Mumumm, Coffeeboy Club, Tanned, Chicken by Won, Loca Lorie and Pinxin Vegan.
On top of that, visitors will be able to shop from a large selection of pre-loved clothing, as well as enjoy an art exhibition by Kasturi Artworks, a lion dance performance and a live band. Proceeds from the event will go to the Flood Relief Aid Fund.
Back in December 2021, The Next Gen Org raised RM499,954 and helped 11,855 flood victims within a week through donations, sponsorship, and volunteering. This round, the pop-up fundraiser’s goal is to help equip 100 families or more with home electrical appliances.

The organisation also hopes the event will encourage thrift shopping as a sustainable lifestyle practice, countering the belief that people need to buy brand new clothes each Chinese New Year.
Another aim of the CNY pop-up is to raise awareness about climate issues, showcasing practical solutions to be more sustainable by spotlighting eco-conscious brands.
The Chinese New Year Charity Pop-Up Fundraiser will be held at Rumah Tangsi on the 22nd and 23rd of January 2022, from 12-8 pm. Get your tickets here.
