Seasoned Indian actor and producer Anil Kapoor needs no introduction to Bollywood fans or film enthusiasts. With over 100 Hindi films on top of roles in international films such as Slumdog Millionaire spanning over 49 years of acting, Anil’s glorious career in film has earned him multiple awards and global recognition.
His youngest son, Harshvardhan Kapoor, is set to follow in his footsteps with an increasing presence in Bollywood in recent years. That’s not surprising, considering his two elder sisters, Sonam and Rhea Kapoor, are also active in the film industry.
In fact, Harshvardhan seems destined to be a film personality in his own right, given his pedigree of thespians dating back the 1920s. But the 30-year-old is in no rush, taking his time to choose the right opportunities that he can be proud of rather than signing whatever comes his way, according to a report.

Right off the bat, Harshvardhan’s Instagram bio gives us a glimpse of his personality and interests. He calls himself an actor, cinephile, sneakerhead and film/vinyl collector – and his feed certainly reflects so.
After graduating with a bachelor’s degree in screenwriting from Chapman University in California, he started out as an assistant director in Bombay Velvet (2015). Acting wasn’t his first option, and surprisingly, neither was it his father’s.
Nevertheless, he eventually made his acting debut in Mirzya (2016) and later landed a lead role in Bhavesh Joshi Superhero (2018). The former earned him several accolades for the Most Promising Debut Actor and Best Acting Debut (Male), whereas the latter fortified his mettle as an actor.

Arguably his most exciting project, however, is playing Olympic gold medallist Abhinav Bindra alongside Anil Kapoor in an upcoming biopic. This will be the first time that the duo will be working together on the silver screen as reel life father-son characters.
The film is an adaptation of Abhinav Bindra’s autobiography, A Shot at History: My Obsessive Journey to Olympic Gold and Beyond. It is expected to come out in theatres in 2021.

Outside of film, he appears to have an affinity for fashion, especially streetwear and sneakers. He often shares video clips of his latest buys and shots of his collection, which is enough to make any sneakerhead drool with envy.

During his recent birthday on November 9, Sonam dedicated a heartfelt post calling him her “darling” and the “apple of her eye”. Meanwhile, Anil expressed how proud he is of his son – even naming him as a friend and confidante.

Come what may, this family will always have each other’s back. In Harshvardhan’s case, his sisters literally have (their names on) his back… as the actor got them tattooed above his shoulder blades back in 2017 to symbolise his “deep love” for them.
