Shine bright on land or up to 100 metres underwater with the new Harry Winston Ocean Biretrograde collection.
American luxury jeweller Harry Winston is no stranger in the world of diamonds, boasting some of the most exquisite creations the industry has seen since it was established in 1932. But it is no stranger to the horology scene either, which brings us to one of its novelty watch collections for 2020: Ocean Biretrograde.
Debuting as an extension of the sporty elegant Ocean family, the Ocean Biretrograde collection presents two new variations. Both launch in a 36mm case made from 18k white or rose gold.
In true Harry Winston style, the watches are generously embellished with brilliant- and emerald-cut diamonds all around the bezel, lugs and sub-dials – amounting to 199 stones in total.
Two retrograde displays equip the watch at 4 o’clock and 6 o’clock, indicating the days of the week and seconds respectively. The largest circular sub-dial displays the hours and minutes, whereas a smaller aperture at 6 o’clock shows the date.
Accentuating the watch is the arched ledge near the crown, which recalls the façade of the house’s flagship store on Fifth Avenue. The lineup features automatic movements powered by the self-winding calibre HW3302 with a 65-hour power reserve built to stand the test of time, allowing owners to show off those striking diamonds both on land and up to 100 metres underwater, thanks to their 10 ATM water resistance.
Distinguishing the models are the dial details, which are offered in either pure, layered mother-of-pearl or with black lacquer on the outer tracks of the primary dial and subdials. The former come with either white or rose gold pearl alligator straps or 18k white or gold bracelets to match the case, which are offered with or without fully blinged-out diamonds.
The latter Ocean Biretrograde Black & White Automatic 36mm models are available in two contrasting variants that are limited to 100 pieces each.
