To celebrate Australia’s famed wine region’s 50th anniversary this year, Margaret River Gourmet Escape is adding an extra day to its program with a line-up of talents you wouldn’t want to miss, including 2 Michelin-Star Chef Andre Chiang and homegrown culinary king, Curtis Stone.
Happening this 16th to 19th November, Margaret River’s unrivalled profusions will take centerstage in the four-day food, produce and wine extravaganza, presenting a record number of events taking place in Western Australia.
Andre (of Restaurant Andre, Singapore) and Curtis (of acclaimed Maude & Gwen Restaurants, Los Angeles) will join over 50 of the world’s leading food and wine personalities; including chefs from the World’s Best Restaurants – David Thompson (#28 Nahm, Thailand), Ashley Palmer-Watts (#36 Dinner by Heston, UK) and Rodolfo Guzman (#42 Borago, Chile) to showcase the premium local produce in stunning locations Margaret River is famous for.
Other well-known culinary names joining the Gourmet Escape include Asia’s Best Female Chef, May Chow (Little Bao, Hong Kong), Luke Nguyen (Sydney), Pierre Koffmann (UK), and Danny Bowien (Mission Chinese, USA).
Paying homage to the region’s 50th anniversary of commercial wine production, the festival will also exhibit a selection of key wine events including the Cape Mentelle International Cabernet Tasting and Long Lunch; the Cullen Wines 32ndInternational Chardonnay Tasting; plus fringe events including the ‘50 Years in the Making’ Tasting at Vasse Felix and the Leeuwin Art Series Dinner.
World-renowned wine critic, Jancis Robinson will be attending many of the events across the weekend, along with other respected wine personalities, James Halliday, Huon Hooke and Nick Stock.
